In this role, the Senior Vice President, Community Operations will:
Provide inspirational leadership and direction to senior living leadership, staff and residents.
Ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization.
Direct the overall operations of all communities while complying with state and federal regulations as well as the company’s policies and procedures.
Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the CEO and executive leadership team to ensure open communication about financial, programmatic, and impact performance results against stated milestones and goals.
In collaboration with the organization’s financial planning and analysis team, monitor the operating plan of each community including developing long and short-range financial plans to ensure financial targets are achieved.
Support the strategic plan and direction of Covenant Retirement Communities.
In collaboration with Regional Directors, oversee the Executive Director of each community to ensure compliance with regulations and to support financial stability of each location.
Oversee the Corporate Directors of Culinary Operations, Facilities Management, campus-based health services including clinical operations and the regional operations directors to ensure success in those areas across all communities.
Work directly with the CEO and other members of the executive leadership team to provide strong leadership and direction to all communities and the home office.
Assist with development and management of each community’s operating and capital budgets.
The ideal candidate will have:
This position is a senior leadership position of a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church. As a senior leader, the candidate needs to have an active faith in a Christian church and be comfortable as a spiritual leader on a campus, including leading devotions, and prayer in group settings.
Ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience with at least five years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-facility, multi-state is required.
Experience leading teams remotely.
Non-profit experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community or senior housing required.
Strong relationship builder/communicator with experience leading diverse work teams across nine states and four time zones, developing an organization-wide strategy for community program excellence, engaging community partners, and partnering with a CEO and board of directors.
Strong financial management skills; ability to develop and manage operating and capital budgets; identify areas for expense savings or revenue generating opportunities.
Ability to maintain and strengthen positive working relationships with staff, residents, and leadership across communities.
Proven experience in developing and sustaining a company culture of teamwork, professionalism, mutual respect, continuous quality improvement, and accountability.
Ability to articulate a vision and develop a strong team of competent and committed professionals who are committed to service excellence.
Master’s degree in business administration, nursing, health care management or related field preferred.
