JOB SUMMARY
The ITG Senior Biomed Support Coordinator (BSC) will serve as the key division resource for coordinating vendor and HCA Healthcare-led implementations of medical device security related controls, asset inventory/data collection, vulnerability remediation/mitigation, and other activities supporting HCA Healthcare’s initiatives to identify and protect medical devices. The BSC maintains continuity and alignment with Corporate Information Protection & Security (IPS) medical device security program and ITG Field Operations Technical Solutions strategies. Additionally, the BSC adheres to, supports HCA Healthcare ITG policies and procedures, and helps assure medical devices are compliant to ITG standards.
Division: These include acute care hospitals, company-managed physician offices, ambulatory surgery centers and other business units where medical devices may be used in the division.
RESPONSIBILITIES

40%

  • Coordinates the implementation of system and medical device risk-reducing remediation and mitigation controls throughout facilities in their assigned division

  • Performs medical device asset inventory validation and data collection/enrichment

  • Responds to vulnerability alerts/anomalies communicated from the manufacturer, ICS-Cert, ITG tools, or from other sources

  • Schedules and coordinates change management (e.g., patches, upgrades, replacements) with device manufacturer and onsite facility personnel

  • Reviews assessment findings and security recommendations shared from Corporate’s Information Security Certification assessment process; verifies recommendations are implemented by manufacturer

  • Supports Corporate ITG Biomed Product Owner; assists with lifecycle refresh of medical devices as needed

  • Provides innovative ideas and approaches to reduce risk with medical devices

  • Performs lifecycle monitoring of medical devices by ongoing review of end-of-life reports and discussions with facility biomed departments

  • Serves as team liaison to Information Protection team and Cyber Defense Center (CDC)

  • Assists the CDC team with toning security alerts within Zingbox

  • Mentor to junior BioMed PM team members.

  • Develops and maintains team procedures and documentation

  • Assists local facility leadership in capital purchase planning and replacement of legacy, end-of-life medical equipment

  • Assist division Directors of Information Security with ensuring vendor agreements (e.g., Information Security Agreement) are established and contractual terms with vendors are being met.

  • Designated medical device vendor liaison for assigned division.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with manufacturers, facility personnel, and other Biomed Support Coordinators in other divisions

  • Organizes, plans, and monitors completion of assigned duties; assists with progress reporting to division and corporate leadership

  • Periodic travel to facilities within division will be needed to carry out required duties

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred

Experience can substitute for degree


EXPERIENCE

5 or more years

  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.

  • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
