The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE) is a research-based think tank that studies how young people in the United States learn to become active participants in our democracy. CIRCLE studies a broad range of topics, from K-12 civic education, youth organizing, youth and civic media, to community characteristics that promote civic development. The central focus of its work is on expanding access to civic learning and engagement opportunities, especially for marginalized youth.

Provides advanced project management skills to a research group that focus on youth civic engagement using a wide range of methods, diverse team members with multiple external partners. The person in this position will work with CIRCLE’s Director, Director of Research, and Director of Impact to identify, organize, sequence, and manage relevant objectives, tasks and timelines for various types of deliverables, events, and projects. The Project Manager should demonstrate proficiency in one or more major project management platforms and use appropriate tools and relationships to ensure each project is closely monitored. They will work together with staff to make sure each project’s progress is followed. Project Manager may participate in research activities such as participant recruitment and communication, literature review, web-based research, and grant and administrative reports. This person’s responsibilities also include organizing and managing appointments and priorities for the director of CIRCLE and providing administrative support in partnership with the Business Manager and Administrative Manager of Tisch College.

Qualifications


Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge, experience and skills typically acquired through a bachelors degree
  • Project Management Certificate
  • At least 12 consecutive months of full-time office work experience in a project management role
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and interest in civic and political engagement
  • Ability to commute daily to Tufts University’s Medford campus


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of project management experience
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary research group
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to details
