The Project Manager leads support to the West Desert Test Center’s chemical laboratories. Reviews test program requirements, plans testing, allocates resources, and conducts testing using chemical warfare agents and simulants. Supervises the scientific research efforts of contractor personnel ensuring work meets client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Market and identify customer requirements, develop cost-effective solutions, lead proposal efforts, prepare cost estimates, plan, and execute projects
  • Develop and manage work breakdown structures and earned value management measurements.
  • Lead multidisciplinary scientific teams in the planning and execution of test programs using chemical warfare agent
  • Monitor and report overall project cost, schedule and performance to the customer

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • US citizen and have an active Secret clearance.
  • Master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, or related degree, (PhD preferred) with 5+ years’ experience leading research or testing efforts in a chemical laboratory
  • 5 years of project management experience with DoD contracts, preferably chemical or biological defense programs; or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams of scientists, and staff in the planning and execution of test programs.
  • Experience in identifying customer requirements, developing cost-effective solutions, leading proposal efforts, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Experience in the development and management of work breakdown structures and earned value management measurements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and MS Project.
  • Excellent management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior research or testing with chemical warfare agents is a plus.
