RJS CONSTRUCTION, INC. is an established and growing general contractor performing construction work in the Federal, Public and Private sectors throughout the United States. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer/Asst. Project Manager to join our professional team in Portland and the surrounding area. The ideal candidate is a polished professional with good client communication skills (verbal and written); the ability to be a team player is critical to the success of this position. H1 Visa not acceptable.

The following will provide a base for you to compare your past construction experience and knowledge against. This list is not intended to be inclusive of the experience and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position.

Role Responsibilities:

· Accurately prepare and expedite submittals.

· Process shop drawings and maintain up-dated logs.

· Prepare, expedite & follow-up on client RFI’s.

· Monitor and update project schedules with Project Managers & Superintendents.

· Participate in project meetings (may be required to take minutes).

· Assist in maintenance of project files.

· Support the quality control and punch list process.

· Assist in coding of time cards, invoices and receipts.

· Review and approve subcontractor payment applications.

· Assist in processing subcontracts and purchase orders.

· Research, locate and procure subcontractors and material.

· Assist in marketing efforts.

Other Responsibilities:

· Assist with a Subcontractor database.

· Assist with assembling Bid Documents.

· Participate in the project “Walk-Through” as required.

· Assist with the development and tracking of the RFP’s for subcontractor pricing.

· Assist with Preparation of “Hard Bids”.

· Assist in proposal writing.

Required Attributes:

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction-related support role.

· Knowledge of construction software beneficial.

· Outstanding team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Exhibit accuracy with an attention to detail.

· Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment.

· Ability to work independently

· Proactively anticipate and resolve issues

· Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project, and MS Outlook
