Responsibilities:
- Inaccordance with the ACCME, Policies, Criteria, Standards for Commercial Support and AMA requirements, and development of education content for the Academy education activities including Question of the Week, JDCR Case Challenges, Basic Dermatology Curriculum, Dialogues in Dermatology, and other activities as assigned.
- Managethe editorial process for educational content.This includes overseeing the invitations to subject matter experts, reviewers, and editors, processing content, sending content for review, ensuring final content is accurate, and transferring content to digital publishing team.
- Establishworkflows, deadlines and timelines for Coordinators and Specialists, schedule and lead intradepartmental and interdepartmental project kick off meetings and monitor work to ensure deadlines are being met.
- Provide overall staffing and liaison services to assigned education Editorial Boards, committees, task forces and workgroups in conjunction with the chairs of these organizational groups.This includes drafting meeting agendas, coordinating meetings and conference calls, drafting programs/strategies to be discussed on the agenda, drafting and distributing summation reports, tracking follow-ups, assisting with developing and monitoring budgets, and ensuring complete reports.Work with chairs to assure the business of the committee is accurately recorded and placed on the appropriate agenda(s) of the appropriate oversight committee, council or Board.Staff liaison will develop and maintain knowledge of the committeeâs area of expertise and work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers.
- Useidentified educational need to develop overall learning objectives, target audience, learning format, development of content, evaluation tools, selection and confirmation of faculty/contributors for education activities.Research and provide recommendations on new activities and work with Associate Director, Digital Learning to develop proposals to specific councils, committees and task forces.Develop draft budgets and funding requests for commercial support.
- Provideonsite support at the Annual Meeting, Summer Meeting, and standalone activities as requested, coordination of faculty assignments, staffing of convention office, etc. working closely with Education and Meetings and Conventions staff.
Requirements:
- In depth knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Abilityto apply effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication methods to achieve desired results.
- Monitorprograms and/or activities and take corrective action when necessary.Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Needto work effectively with all levels of an organization and feel comfortable communicating directly with physicians. Weigh alternative actions and make decisions that incorporate opinions, facts, tangible and/or intangible factors.
- Focuson the objectives and results when considering the alternatives to a decision.Solicit the input of the appropriate people to improve the quality of a decision.
- Advancedproficiency with MS Office required (proficiency in Access a plus).
- Abilityto monitor the progress of tasks and projects and provide follow up.Ability to think critically and execute projects under minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Fiveor more yearsâ experience in adult/continuing education programs, association and/or CME experience necessary.
- Experiencewith publishing highly preferred.
- Knowledgeof ACCME Essentials and Guidelines a plus.Travel and weekend work required.
