Job Description:
IT Project Manager Manages and plans one, but occasionally more than one, complex project consisting of one or more project teams. Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and assigning project tasks, team building, maintaining working relationships with client functional areas outside of IT. Applies project development methodologies and reporting techniques to indicate project status. Manages one or more project teams to meet complex project objectives.
Reviews, evaluates and formulates project plans, schedules and budgets. Allocates staff and budget resources to meet changing corporate needs. Identifies and negotiates schedules, milestones and resources required to meet project objectives. Organizes and guides project operations through the use of methodologies accepted by the industry.
Evaluates and reports progress in terms of quality and performance metrics common to IT projects. Modifies schedules as required. Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support. Prepares staff performance evaluations. May conduct staff reviews. Keeps informed of technical and managerial advances in IT.
Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by senior management. Provides solutions to a diverse range of complex problems. Typically requires 5+ yearsâ experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience in time & attendance system implementation, specifically Kronos is preferred.
Pertinent facts about the role.
- Initially start as a traditional Project Manager that can manage both Waterfall and Agile Projects.
- There will be use of both MS Project, Spreadsheets for Resource Balancing/Pivot Tables and Spreadsheets/PowerPoint for Dashboard reporting
- Should have experience creating BRDs although this skill does not have to be current
- Should be PMP, PMI certified and ITIL Service Management certified
- Managing a Kronos rollout is a Plus but not mandatory
- Project Rollout of time reporting and attendance across some geography (e.g. East Coast) at some point is preferred
