Hi, we’re Oscar. We’re hiring a Head of People Operations to join our People team in our New York City office.

About this role:
The People Team is the linchpin of Oscar’s values and culture–we bring, we build, we maintain, we strengthen. The Head of People Operations will define the team’s vision, and lead the design and operations of our employee focused technology platforms (including Workday, our human capital management software). This person will be responsible for building, optimizing and implementing core People Team processes and overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of our HR systems and integrations. This leader will be tasked with prioritizing and managing all HCM projects, and building and delivering HR analytics, metrics, and custom tools.

Here at Oscar we move quickly, are continuously iterating on our processes, and driving change through innovation. We’re looking for an analytical thinker who can effectively operationalize our people processes and systems, and drive engagement along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Workday (Absence, Advance Compensation, Benefits, HCM, Payroll, Talent, Time) by monitoring system and employee issues. Identify and drive system and process improvements
  • Create and implement frameworks and tools for project management, data management and testing
  • Lead, manage and grow a high-functioning team of four while defining a scalable team strategy, resourcing model, priorities and goals to support our rapidly growing organization
  • Build roadmap to optimize Workday to improve current business processes and enable new features. Drive system enhancements using project management methodology
  • Define operational metrics and KPIs for the People team
  • Define current state processes and ensure documentation of standard operating procedures, before scaling processes for growth and innovation based on the needs of the business
  • Partner with our internal technology teams to ensure successful integration with other corporate systems
  • Leverage technical skills to propose process improvements, expand our reporting capabilities and automate tasks through technology
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex, escalated HR system issues
  • Oversee testing and migration approval for HR technology changes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and remedy system issues
  • Build and deliver HR analytics, metrics, and reporting tools. Consult with and present to business leaders as needed
  • Ensure HR system data security, integrity, and accuracy through regular maintenance and system audits. Oversee maintenance of data and ensure timely data delivery
  • Improve user adoption by leading the development, delivery, and maintenance of our training initiatives
  • Manage benefit vendor integrations and partner with Benefits team on Open Enrollment activities
  • Partner with Finance to ensure streamlined payroll operations
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with IT, Compliance and Finance to ensure streamlined processes and controls

What leads to success:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of relevant experience supporting People Operations, Human Resources, and company-wide process improvements. Specific expertise in the implementation, development, and functional support of an enterprise HR system
  • Proficiency in Workday (HCM) modules and functions, and experience with system design, process mapping, testing and deployment of Workday solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Experience leading successful system migrations and integrations, and running integrated systems reporting
  • Strong project management skills: good follow-through on cross-functional plans, projects and goals
  • Exceptional analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously, but take direction as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills; with the ability to tailor communication to a variety of stakeholders
  • Results- oriented and able to balance multiple priorities, working quickly and nimbly
  • Strong collaborator and influencer; able to build strong partnerships with internal and external partners
  • You are a self-starter who loves taking initiative and proactively provide suggestions to streamline and improve processes.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with Greenhouse or other Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Familiarity with Shareworks (equity management system)
