General Description:

Strideline is a fast growing apparel company based in Seattle, WA seeking a Head of Data Analytics and Systems Architecture as we scale at a sustained 20% growth rate YoY.

This role serves as a key member of the Strideline Team and is responsible for satisfying the needs of stakeholders in the chain of business processes which connect Strideline’s global supply partners, the Company, and its customers. To be effective in the role, the Head of Data Analytics and Systems Architecture must develop a clear understanding of the company’s objectives and foster a spirit of partnership between the supply chain organization, finance/accounting, key functional leaders, customer service, sales, and distribution operations.

Growth will be fueled by an aggressive push into new markets, a robust product roadmap, and brand/line extensions. With growth, Strideline will continue to evolve its business model, placing greater emphasis on differentiation via superior performance of its internal operations and supply chain. This emphasis on differentiation is to be enabled via improved nimbleness, data accuracy, and adaptability when servicing the needs of the customer and supported by robust cross-functional capabilities. The Head of Data Analytics and Systems Architecture will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing changes necessary to achieve optimal performance through consistent data and forward looking automation. As such, the successful candidate will exert influence over the company’s evolving business model and lead efforts to develop capabilities, which are necessary to differentiate the company among its competitors and as part of the overall brand mission and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement corrective actions regarding process inefficiencies.
  • Completely own all data (and its accuracy) from all data sources and work with appropriate teams to address limitations/issues.
  • Build from scratch reporting/forecasting tools to forecast production needs from company database.
  • Ensure assigned production application systems are up and running to support the business.
  • Proactively monitor assigned systems to ensure early detection of potential issues, adequate resource capacity where applicable, and successful data backup that can be restored as needed.
  • Triage and resolve incidents related to application systems, and EDI transmissions with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Apply understanding of system features to help our business teams exploit current system functionality, increasing our return on investment through maximization of feature utilization and automation of processes.
  • Design, develop, and support systems and data integration as required by the business. Respond to business needs for data exchange with third parties.
  • Maintain documentation of development, test, and production environments for assigned systems as applicable.
  • Manage assigned vendor relationships to ensure service and technology delivery in accordance with the terms of our contracts.
  • Work with business leaders to identify opportunities to optimize business processes through system integration, minimizing duplicate data entry and improving data integrity.
  • Research and share value of emerging technologies and trends applicable to Strideline’s business challenges. Keep pace with and share advancements in packaged software solutions with the potential to deliver value and efficiency.
  • Follow best practices for managing the implementation of changes, patches, and upgrades into the production environment.
  • Provide clear and concise plans for upgrades/changes to systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitor order placement and data processing to ensure 100% of orders ship on time.

Your background should include and or exhibit:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a CPG (consumer packaged goods) business with domestic and international footprint.
  • Experience aligning solutions to architecture strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Business Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting complex technologies and systems, ideally at a CPG company.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts (e.g., logical schemas, physical table structures, data attributes)
  • Strong skills in data analytics and ability to mine SQL for business reporting.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing systems analyst tasks. Some independent judgment required in setting priorities of tasks among multiple assigned projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Great communicator who can express ideas clearly and concisely in written form and in casual and formal presentations, adapting style and vocabulary as required to suit the audience. Effective listening skills.

Additional Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Travel (< 20%) domestic and international via commercial carrier.
