ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS MANAGER
Hiring Salary Range: $65,000 – 75,000 DOQ
The
City of Fredericksburg invites you to join our team! We seek an
Environmental Programs Manager to be responsible for the City”s
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program, ensuring the
program is compliant with all state and federal environmental laws and
regulations. This position will manage and coordinate a variety of
environmental programs and initiatives including but not limited to
solid waste and recycling programs, litter control, public trash
container management, and closed landfill management. Additionally, this
position will act as the Public Works department”s environmental
liaison to the Clean and Green Commission, Rappahannock Regional Solid
Waste Board, and other environmental groups and organizations. Develop
public education programming on environmental programs in coordination
with other City & department personnel and be responsible for
ensuring that the City”s plans, policies, facilities and property comply
with all applicable pollution prevention requirements.

Prior experience developing and managing environmental programs, preferably in a government setting. A Bachelor”s Degree in civil/environmental
engineering, environmental sciences, city/regional planning, or a
related field focusing on environmental issues, is preferred but not required.
Ability to obtain VA DEQ E&S and/or Stormwater certifications required within one year.
