Summary
This position will lead the site’s continuous improvement initiatives designed to eliminate waste and non-value added activities and improve performance in the five focus areas of Operational Excellence by:

  • Providing guidance and acting as a resource to Continuous Improvement teams on the selection and project management of Six Sigma and Focused Factory/Lean projects.
  • Personally leading Six Sigma and Lean projects for improvement results that can be leveraged across facilities, functions, and Divisions.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement training, tools, best practices and resources are available to employees at all levels and are being utilized appropriately and effectively.
  • Involvement in the validation and long-term sustainability of the site continuous improvement projects.

Major tasks include:
  • Collects and analyzes data, justifies procedural changes or process modifications, and establishes operating procedures for the plant throughout the life of continuous improvement projects.
  • Optimizes processes to attain lower manufacturing costs, increased productivity and reduced cycle times.
  • Identifies Improvement Opportunities in existing manufacturing operations.

  • Contributes to project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives.
  • Identifies training needs and develops training and standard operating procedures for employees to ensure effective use of continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Conducts safety audits and observations throughout the CIP’s, to ensure safe practices are not sacrificed by procedural changes or process modifications.
  • Finds solutions to problem areas in existing operational procedures.
  • Leads tactical site-level projects. Contributes to regional & divisional projects.
  • Identifies/communicates/overcomes obstacles that may prohibit site from meeting production requirements.
  • Promotes a clean/safe work place.
  • Finds solutions to problem areas in existing operational procedures.
  • Contributes to project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives.
  • Improves process procedures by partnering with operating employees in various departments to collect, analyze and implement results via training or capital expenditure recommendations.
  • Identifies procedural changes to improve manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Assists management team in the execution and completion of CIP Projects.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, from an accredited institution
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status
Seven+ years experience in Engineering
Minimum three years of leadership experience

Other Qualifications:
Advanced Degree such as a Master of Science or Master of Business Administration is preferred
Experience with Continuous Improvement
Experience with building improvements and/or construction related projects
Experience in a manufacturing environment is required (Powder Coatings, Plastics, Pharma, or Food industries preferred)
