Role Overview
This position leads manufacturing operations for a large site or geographic area. The incumbent will be responsible for sustaining and or improving and developing processes and controls to ensure On time delivery, NPI execution, operational efficiency, quality, SIOP, EH&S, facility and cost.
Primary Responsibilities:
Align with Collins Aerospace culture to attract, retain and develop top talent
Create a coaching environment that breeds leaders thru robust processes, training programs, ACE tool usage and systematic controls using trust, respect, inclusion, collaboration and knowledge
Effectively lead in a highly matrixed organization
Ensure alignment, adoption and implementation of the Collins Quality Management system
Ensure process and controls in place to achieve and sustain 100% OTD for all customers
Drive overall business performance using ACE(Lean) tools and process standards
Oversee and direct cost reduction efforts and process improvements for a large site or geographic area to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
Oversee and direct scheduling for a large site or geographic area to ensure that the plants meet established targets and standards
Strategically design processes for sequencing of work such as build and delivery for a large site or geographic area to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources
Design innovative strategies for materials and logistics problem resolution for a large site or geographical area to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations
Ideate and implement policies for cell performance and productivity for a large site or geographic area to maximize productivity
Oversee and direct production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for a large site or geographic area to enhance production capabilities
Consult and strategically advise customers to ensure that customers’ needs are met
Responsible for all or a major portion of processing operations in a plant
Oversee production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), maintenance, plant engineering, scheduling and personnel
Manage the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function
Perform professional or management work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
Minimum Qualifications:
10 years manufacturing experience in an operations leadership role in aerospace or similar industry
Proven ability to lead operations for a site >$250M in sales
Direct customer management experience
Lean organization knowledge and experience
Proven performance leading in a highly matrixed organization
Strong working financial knowledge of P&L; strong business acumen
AS9100 knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
Full P&L ownership experience
Labor/Union experience desired
High volume mixed model
Aircraft interior manufacturing experience
