Director of Information Technology

SUMMARY:

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company. Using an active and practical approach, will direct all employees in IT departments to attain the company’s strategic goals established in the company’s strategic plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish the company’s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development.
• Directs the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth.
• Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as marketing, production and operations as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values.
• Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
• Acts as a good steward of Gibraltar resources and ensures control of IT departmental budgets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Gibraltar IT has a fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule and/or evening/weekend hours in order to satisfy customer needs and position requirements.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience:
• Ten or more years of experience in IT and business/industry
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design and development
• Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments

• Knowledge/Skills:
• Microsoft Certifications highly desirable
• VMWare Certifications highly desirable
• Experience using Microsoft windows networking, server and windows operating systems
• Experience with Microsoft SQL
• Experience with IIS
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts
• Ability to change tasks as needed on little to no notice
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
• Ability to work successfully with an integrated support team
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff
