Innovative Reasoning (IR), a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is looking for a Business Development (BD) Director to help close business opportunities with commercial and government customers.
Reporting to the IR President, the BD Director will create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain +growth goals and objectives. This role focuses on developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients/sponsors including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations. They will manage client accounts and come up with new sales ideas. This includes new sales strategies, sales pitches, and business plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends and emerging opportunities.
- Developing growth strategies and pursuit plans in support of company goals and objectives.
- Manage allocated resources to maximize pursuit of high win probability pursuits when acting as both the prime contractor and/or sub-contractor.
- Having an in-depth knowledge of company offerings and the value proposition for potential customers.
- Acts as the lead capture manager by providing critical information for teaming, pricing, staffing and technical approach used for preparing written responses to solicitations.
- Coordinates competency manager support for the development of oral and written proposals.
- Cultivating positive interactions and relationships with sales team, portfolio and project managers, and executives to evaluate sales strategy and results.
- Solicit constructive dialog with customers for identification of performance and risk concerns resulting in the development problem solutions
- Communicate outcome of the customer interaction and dialog that provides critical insight for proposal pursuit decisions.
- Recommend process improvements for business opportunity identification, pursuit, proposal writing, and customer follow-up.
- Attend government trade shows and industry conferences for educational and customer-oriented purposes
