Director, IT Applications

We are seeking an experienced Director of IT Applications to join our award-winning company and to oversee and develop strategy for all application development and database administration functions at Iron Bow Technologies. This person will lead a highly motivated team of Oracle DBA’s and developers, ServiceNow administrators and developers, Microsoft SharePoint administrators and developers, functional analysts, and manage the development and maintenance of feature sets for the Iron Bow’s enterprise level system. The ideal candidate will be very knowledgeable in industry best practices for the software development lifecycle and well versed in the intricacies of Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS). They will have a solid technical background while being able to manage and motivate a highly technical team. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in creating and implementing policies and procedures that will meet strategic objectives. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to solve myriad issues related to the deployment of mission-critical systems, in support of the Iron Bow mission. Lastly, the Director of IT Applications will have demonstrated the capability to lead strategy workshops and serve a liaison between the MIS department and various Iron Bow units to create a vision for what is possible through the optimization and creation of new IT systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for managing the delivery of new and ongoing software development projects and provide IT resource management for initiatives owned by the Applications Team, DevOps and other business units.
• Build and manage project teams in the delivery of Oracle EBS, ServiceNow and Sharepoint.
• Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
• Oversee all EBS operations and evaluate system health according to established Oracle best practices.
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
• Work with management to purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
• Inspect the use of databases and software systems to ensure functionality and efficiency.
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Applications Team, including directing staff who support computing, user services, and other information technology functions.
• Control budget and report on expenditures for Applications Team.
• Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
• Provide ongoing visibility into the health of online applications and opportunities for improvement through testing and other means.
• Lead efforts to engage in motivation and morale building activities and initiatives for Applications Team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors in computer science, information systems, or business administration, and/or 12 plus years’ equivalent work experience;
• 15+ years of direct experience in administration for Oracle EBS applications (i.e. Oracle’s Financials, HR, Order Management, etc.);
• Working knowledge of Agile development practices;
• Solid SQL scripting and systems administration skills;
• Expert in Microsoft SharePoint and ServiceNow technologies;
• Technically fluent in relational database administration, including Oracle release 11 and 12c;
• Solid understanding of cost accounting practices;
• Ability to work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines; Ability to manage multiple goals and deadlines; Ability to balance a large volume of workload, prioritize requirements and meet deadlines;
• Accomplished team builder, motivator, coach and mentor;
• Knowledge of Cloud and As-A-Service offerings;
• Demonstrable project and portfolio management skills;
• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies;
• Strong customer-service orientation;
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives;
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language;
• Ability to conduct research into application issues and products;
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail;

• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
