Job description: Associate Project Manager (Project Assistant)
The Associate Project Manager is responsible for the administrative processes throughout the project lifecycle for custom engineered pumps and compressors. This position supports the Project Manager from quote to closeout and will interface with the entire project team and various departments throughout the business.
Candidates for this position typically are seeking practical, hands-on experience in project management and have a technical or business background.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide administrative support for the Project Manager in multiple capacities
- Setup project schedules and update on regular intervals
- Generate monthly progress reports to customers
- Coordinate & communicate activities and schedules with internal teams
- Follow up with project team members and other departments to ensure schedules are maintained
- Resolve issues with other departments including manufacturing, purchasing, planning, logistics and sales
- Communicate and follow up with clients and Project Managers about specific projects, tasks and deadlines
- Draft communications for the Project Manager
- Act as the backup for the Project Manager
- Generate documentation for submittal to customers
- Disposition and distribute customer redlines to project team members
- Generate weekly reports and present updates to the PM/Director
- Monitor project budgets monthly and generate reports for PM and Finance
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the project manager
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required; bachelorâs degree preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in a support role; Industry experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Must be able to take direction but work independently
- Must be able to take initiative and solve problems
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, assignments and changing priorities efficiently
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively
