The Role

Willis Re Inc. seeks an Assistant Vice President in New York, NY to:
  • Conduct in depth property reinsurance needs analysis and/or risk assessments to determine companies’ needs for property reinsurance coverage.
  • Utilize modelling software to conduct sophisticated analysis and develop ideas and strategies for meeting clients’ needs in a strategic manner to sell reinsurance products that align with those needs.
  • Source in-house technical specialists, as required, to address product-specific and risk-specific issues.
  • Study reinsurance markets to assess most appropriate opportunities for reinsurance needs.
  • Work with underwriters to effectively and efficiently place reinsurance with reinsurance companies.
  • Review and analyze Terms and Conditions of offered reinsurance polices for appropriateness and negotiate with market on behalf of clients to obtain cost effective and properly placed products.
  • Generate new sales from existing and prospective clients.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goal targets related to revenue growth, mix of business and penetration into industry specific targets.
  • Develop and manage an active pipeline of property reinsurance prospects by meeting with insurance company clients.

The Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Insurance or a related field and 2 years of experience in property insurance or reinsurance brokerage.
  • Must have experience in negotiating with insurance and reinsurance markets on behalf of clients, preparing and reviewing contracts with underwriters, maintaining consistent / high quality touch points by phone and face to face with clients, supporting management team in identifying new opportunities, developing new relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and risk management decisions, and pipeline development and delivery of effective sales strategies.
