ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Vice President, National Practice Management provides leadership, direction, and ongoing supervision for Bright Health Care’s owned and managed primary care focused physician practices across the country. As a fast-growing division within Bright Health, you will be responsible for ensuring our local medical group CEOs meet financial and operational performance goals, leading the development of national standards and programs, successfully integrating new medical groups into Bright Health Care, and leading change management efforts to ensure strong clinic and operational performance. You will be accountable for ensuring our owned and managed medical groups can begin to take financial risk, and you will work in collaboration with Bright Health’s leadership to design and implement the tools and programs necessary for their success.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and manages medical group CEOs to oversee day-to-day operations of Bright Health Care’s owned and managed medical groups
- Develops and oversees the execution and performance of financial and operational plans at a practice, market, and regional level; is accountable for performance of these provider practices and medical groups
- Builds and implements specific programs, products, and services to support the long-range strategic directions for each of Bright Health Care’s owned and managed medical groups
- Develops and deploys best practice processes in partnership with other areas of Bright Health to support practice growth through the marketing of existing practices and the ramping of new practices
- Assists with due diligence for Bright Health Care’s practice acquisitions, coordinates findings with senior leadership, identifies operational requirements, and oversees execution post acquisition
- Works with local market CEOs and practice leadership to address any clinical operations or other performance factors serving as barriers to the achievement of objectives
- Coordinates the preparation of the annual operational and capital budgets; participates in the ongoing evaluation of the allocation of funds and expenses, and provides monthly and annual statistical data, interpretation and variance reporting with timely immediate corrective action plans
- Supports the engagement of practices within Bright Health Smart Networks, Bright Health Plan, and other health plans
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position will have supervisory responsibility of local and regional medical group non-clinical leadership.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field is required; MBA/MHA is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of ambulatory or primary care clinic operations experience, with at least 5 years in a national/regional management role required.
- Experience in change management and process improvement required
- FACMPE or comparable certification preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work responsibilities are performed in an open office setting, carrying out detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Travel will be required.
