Technical Operations Manager

Purpose: Plan, Coordinate and Execute technical production operations from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

Planning

• Support BD Team to prepare quotes and proposals.
• Identify cost-drivers, lead-time drivers, and technical risks to the customer and BD Team for all proposal efforts.
• Attend trade shows, customer meetings, conferences and luncheons as requested

Coordinating:

• Prepare projects for production and communicate all budgets and requirements with the Project Lead(s):
• Compile all customer requirements
• Verify labor hour budgets
• Manage inventory and purchasing needs (coordinate with purchasing team)
• Manage project requirements document to include customer requirements, deliverable list and milestone calendar

Execution

• Manage all current project operations including staffing, all schedule milestone, support test scheduling, materials usage, labor usage and quality checks on final deliverable.
• Upon project completion and delivery provide actual cost reports to management.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Complete and thorough understanding of Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) Blankets

Knowledge of requirements analysis, quality assurance and risk mitigation.

Knowledge of the government contracting and proposal processes, including knowledge of FAR. Ability to develop accurate quotes in a timely fashion.

Experience managing teams, products and budget in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in business development and client engagement.

Able to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment.

Able to meet tight deadlines and follow up on commitments, detail oriented.

Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.

Flexible, accurate and excellent interpersonal skills.

Strong team leadership ability.

Education/Certification Requirements

Education/experience acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study, and 5 or more years’ experience in MLI design, and client and operations management within the aerospace industry.
