Description

Reports to the Sr. Vice President, Corrections as assigned. Participates as a member of the corrections leadership team. Responsible for ensuring appropriate training, contract compliance, program effectiveness and quality improvement.


Essential Functions:

  • Monitor contracts, budgets, organization, programs and administrative functions at MTC-operated correctional facilities, identifying problem areas, proposing and implementing appropriate action.
  • Identify positive and negative trends in correctional facility operations and provide appropriate guidance and/or staff training.
  • Conduct on‑site visits at MTC-operated correctional facilities to review specific areas and provide guidance and training as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between MTC senior vice president of corrections and other departments within MTC corporate headquarters. In support of corrections leadership, interacts regularly with correctional facilities and customer agency representatives, ensuring contract compliance, program effectiveness, quality performance and professional working relationships.
  • Recommend corrective action as needed and conduct follow‑up reviews to ensure problem resolution.
  • Review significant inmate and facility personnel actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, contractor and corporate regulations.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of proposals.
  • Provide support and assist the senior vice president, corrections in marketing existing correctional facilities to maintain current contracts and solicit new correctional business as directed.
  • Assist in the development of facility goals and action plans, and monitor performance to ensure achievement.
  • Monitor the development and implementation of facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual and corporate requirements.
  • Provide assistance to the marketing vice president, when requested.
  • Maintain accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.


Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in correctional management, business administration, counseling or related field and five years of related experience, three of which must be supervisory. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements under special circumstances, if approved by senior vice president, corrections. Incumbent will be required to travel extensively. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Unless waived by management, valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
