Job Overview

The Consumer Experience team Scrum Master coordinates with the Product Owner (PO) of their various teams and facilitates scrum ceremonies within each sprint. They will also act as a leader within the scrum teams while solving issues and removing impediments quickly and efficiently. They will create an environment where the team is able to self-organize and help enforce accountability of the team agreement. A large part of the position is building a trusting and safe environment for employees who are participating in scrum discussion. They will be responsible for setting and cascading best practices. The Scrum Master will facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution while also getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. They must hold a high standard for remarkable work and excel when working within a lean organization undergoing explosive growth.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include day-to-day duties and various projects, including but not limited to:

  • Facilitating and/or participating in scrum ceremonies within each sprint (Daily Stand-up, Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Review, Grooming, and Retrospectives).

  • Acting as a servant leader to their Scrum teams by working with a sense of urgency to resolve conflict and remove impediments while also facilitating discussion and forcing decision-making – where necessary – at the Team and Scrum of Scrums level.

  • Working alongside the PO and team to constantly optimize processes, ways of working and the team agreement in a way that maximizes the value creation, velocity, product quality and happiness of the team.

  • Working with peers, Meta Scrum Master, Executive Scrum Master and Executive Leadership Team stakeholders (VP level and above) to consistently refine and optimize the scrum process.

  • Working with senior leadership in the alignment, planning and execution of product delivery.

  • Maintaining an environment within the scrum teams where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (can be waived if more than 5 years of experience in similar role)

  • Experience as a scrum master

  • Awareness of and experience with scaled Agile frameworks (Scrum at Scale, SAFe, etc.)

  • Experience in facilitating Agile workshops geared toward feature definition and prioritization

  • Understands agile reporting and metrics as well as scrum principles, practices, and theory

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong situational awareness and skills in facilitating conflict resolution and continual improvement

  • Extensive experience leveraging agile tools (Jira, Kanban, etc.) to facilitate scrum ceremonies

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent agile certification strongly preferred
