The basic function of the Project Manager is to direct the performance of an assigned project, manage the project schedule, and monitor the project’s financial performance on a day to day basis. The Project Manager is to ensure that all projects assigned are processed through the organization, maintaining all scheduled dates and equipment quality using sound engineering and business practices. The Project Manager is to monitor all assigned projects’ financial performance and ensure that the projects stay within budget. The Project Manager reports directly to the President. Project assistants and/or Jr. project managers could report to this position under some circumstances.


REQUIREMENTS


Education:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.


Experience:
5 years of project engineering or project management


Licenses:
No special license is required for this position.


Skills:
The ability to coordinate and organize a project engineering team to obtain a common goal. Advanced communication skills, both technically and commercially, are required. Must have the ability to utilize resources to enhance the performance of the assigned project group. Must be proficient with computers and modern mobile communication methods.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the project equipment list per the project requirements
  • Work closely with the customer after the sale to ensure a successful project.
  • Responsible for communicating the financial status of all assigned projects with senior management.
  • Manage and maintain the project schedule utilizing the approved methods and tools used by Sigma Thermal, Inc.
  • Prepare for and attend weekly project status meetings to discuss all aspects of the project with the other project managers and upper management.
  • Maintain and update project status worksheets on a weekly basis
  • Develop and coordinates project schedules with engineering, design, manufacturing, and vendors.
  • Ensure all project invoices are sent on time and payment in received in a timely manner.
  • Help to maintain the project schedule tracking system
  • Coordinates project engineering tasks required on assigned projects.
  • Develop additional working project management tools for Sigma Thermal, Inc. as required
  • Answer for all budget deviations on assigned projects.

DUTIES

  • Develop project equipment list and requisition the purchase of all required items for an assigned project
  • Develop project P&ID’s per the application/sales engineers design.
  • Attend weekly project meetings and budget reviews.
  • Ensure that the project engineers are using solid engineering judgment and appropriate Sigma Thermal, Inc. standards when performing engineering tasks on the assigned projects.
  • Follow payment reports for each in house project.
  • Coordination of all project drawings to the customer, engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Communicate the project schedule with the customer / end user.
  • Direct project engineers as needed to meet the project schedule, budget, or customer requirements as needed
