The purpose of this position is to provide leadership to Dakota County Technical College’s (DCTC) TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) and Student Development Programs. The position will manage human and financial resources and provide direct supervision to department employees including athletics, career and transfer services, student life, SSS, and tutoring. The position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a federally funded grant project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of experience with programs serving low income, first generation students, and/or students with accessibility service needs.
  • Experience with retention programs in higher education.
  • Experience in the areas of grant management, program assessment, data collection, data analysis, documentation of services provided, educational “best practices” in student development, and/or effective collaboration with internal and external constituents.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and lead and motivate others.
  • Strong leadership and human relations skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Personnel Administration, or Education or in a field related to the position.
  • 2-3 years budget management experience.
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience.
  • Experience designing and managing educational programs.
  • Training on issues of poverty, diversity, and accessibility and how they impact education.
  • Previous experience coordinating a TRIO program or other federally funded project.
