This position will require travel on a regular basis. The Generations Home Office is located in Clackamas, Oregon, but there is an opportunity for this position to be considered a remote worker.
The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for Cherishing our Trophy Assets. This includes but is not limited to: planning, organizing, developing, and directing the general plant operations maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of assigned communities. Overseeing the general operations of each assigned Plant Operations and Housekeeping Departments. The Director of Plant Operations is also responsible for creating and promoting an environment of trust and respect between leadership at Generations and the Plant Operations teams at the communities through both their words and actions. This position supports the VP of Design and Development in achieving objectives and is a member of the senior executive team.
SCOPE OF JOB TASKS:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Understands, demonstrates and promotes the “FISH” philosophy, service standards and Wendell’s 5 keys every day.
· Fosters an environment of candid and collaborative communication with operations and each community through attitude and example.
· Ensure that each assigned community complies with all applicable local, state and federal rules and regulations, and company policies and procedures with respect to Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
· Assist and support the communities’ Executive Director(s) and Plant Operations teams with issues related to planning, development, implementation, organization, evaluation, and direction of community maintenance and cleanliness.
· Assist and support communities’ Executive Director(s) and Plant Operations teams with system development and effective management for responding to work orders and coordination work assignments among maintenance team, vendors, and contractors.
· Assist and support communities’ Executive Director(s) and Plant Operations with annual budget planning.
· Monitor the effectiveness of each community’s procurement process; including but not limited to identifying potential efficiencies, negotiate better contracts, etc.)
· Monitor the performance and effectiveness of 3rd party vendors.
· Communicate and ensure compliance with QE and companywide initiatives to staff at assigned communities.
· Main point of contact regarding coordination of Cap Ex projects that do not involve structural changes or major construction.
· For the projects referred to above, coordinates workers, material, and equipment, ensuring plans adhere to contract specifications, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
· Prepares project status reports.
· Attend and participate in all required meetings, trainings, industry conferences and group events.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years’ experience in Building Maintenance management, commercial construction and/or building maintenance.
· Ability to display strong stills in project management and organizational skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Must have the ability to have overnight stays with travel and may be required to travel outside of normal business hours.
