Sunovion Pharmaceuticals is looking for an Associate Director of Managed Markets Marketing to join our team in Marlborough, MA

The Associate Director of Managed Markets Marketing Pull-Through role will serve as the primary point of contact for all managed care pull-through activities. This individual will create both tailored and template based pull-through resources across all Sunovion therapeutic areas (Psychiatry, Neurology and Respiratory) and channels (Systems of Care/IDN’s, Hospitals, LTC, HHC, Trade etc…). They will be responsible for taking all materials through the PMRC (Legal, Medical, Regulatory) review processes for approval. The Associate Director will lead pull-through committees and participate on Customer Action Teams (CAT) where appropriate pull-through campaigns will be developed, discussed and prioritized. They will be responsible for conducting pull-through campaigns, complete with internal and external communication. Pull-through messaging could occur via direct field force promotion or through non-personal promotion (such as, direct mail campaigns, email campaigns, Point of Sales messaging, geo-fencing etc…) This individual will continuously improve the pull-through platform, recommending adjustments based on feedback from field sales representatives and Account Directors, or through advancements in the pull-through platform technology itself. The Associate Director will also be responsible for capturing meaningful metrics and results of the pull-through activities and tailoring reports to meet the needs of key internal stakeholders, such as the Heads of Sales, Managed Markets and Brand Marketing, Senior Leadership etc.. They will align with key stakeholders and help to establish pull-through goals.

This individual may also assist with integration into electronic medical record platforms, select conference planning, exhibit creation and select journal ad placements. They will also be expected to develop and present presentations/resources for training around pull-through. They will participate in new hire and advanced skills training; as well as, training at sales meetings. This individual will also be expected to understand industry pull-through benchmarks and obtain insights on ways to advance Sunovion’s pull-through capabilities. This individual will keep the various management teams informed about opportunities and emerging issues in the broad, managed customer environments and will share the subsequent implications for Sunovion.

Essential Functions:

  • Proactively work with cross-functional partners (such as, Managed Markets Marketing, Account Management, Field Sales, Brand and multiple levels of Leadership). Collaborative nature essential.
  • Strong communication skills, as this individual will be leading cross-functional meetings, be in discussions with Senior Leadership and will have involvement in the creation and delivery of training (new hire/refresher).
  • Manages automated platforms and recommends updates. Attention to detail essential to programming and placing updated templates on Publisher platform.
  • Demonstrates strong service orientation and responsiveness to stakeholder requests.
  • Manages agency/vendor partnerships.
  • Effectively manages budgets and project timelines
  • Represents Managed Markets in PMRC reviews and acts as a trusted advisor
  • Leads pull-through committee(s) and participate on Customer Action Teams (CAT) where appropriate pull-through campaigns will be discussed and prioritized.
  • Ability to navigate PMRC (Legal, Medical, Regulatory) review process with respect for all points of view, solutions orientation, listening skills and attention to details.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the dynamics driving the various managed market segments including Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid payers; as well as, Systems of Care, Institutions, Home healthcare and Trade.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, with experience in the field preferred (Regional Business Manager/District Sales Manager/Senior Territory Specialist preferred). Knowledge of managed care, account management, institutions and or brand marketing is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of US healthcare system including providers, payers (public and private) and influencers
  • Analytical skills including experience in conducting research, data mining, modeling, or return-on-investment analysis
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to identify problems and barriers and quickly assimilate information to develop actionable and effective solutions
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment
  • Results oriented with excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills. A strong team orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited consultation from supervisor
