Oakstone Land and Capital, creator of the The Retreat tiny home communities, is currently looking for a VP of Construction Management with commercial construction experience to lead the development construction efforts for our rapidly growing company. We are looking for candidates that have 5+ years of building and/or project management experience.

Responsibilities of the Construction Project Manager

  • Oversee and direct multiple construction projects from conception to completion
  • Review the projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review the work progress on daily basis
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
  • Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Review the work for conformance with the specifications, acceptable levels of quality, safety, and schedule.

Requirements of the Vice President of Construction Management

  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in construction related studies preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Residential/Multifamily Project Manager construction
  • Commercial project experience with the ability to run large projects successfully.
  • Must have strong leadership skills in order to direct successful projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Moderate travel (driving only) is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000.00 to $120,000.00 /year
