SUMMARY
The Vice President, Enterprise Program and Project Management will implement and manage a program and project management discipline including the effectiveness and delivery of demand management, portfolio management, project management, governance and quality management of all programs and projects. This role will ensure BECU meets its strategic goals by continuously making progress toward the successful completion of mission-critical projects. This leader will function as both a diplomat and negotiator by proactively identifying and objectively facilitating resolution of cross functional team dependencies and issues. Will oversee all phases of portfolio and project management to include portfolio development, project initiation, planning, execution, and closure.
In conjunction with senior leadership, this role will proactively identify project interdependencies across initiatives and business units and manage and influence issue resolution. Provides leadership to teams responsible for engaging stakeholders to prioritize demand, create and maintain portfolio metrics, establish, implement, and maintain enterprise project management methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
- Leads the BECU project and program portfolio execution and works closely with the Director of Portfolio Governance and the Strategic Management Committee for issue escalation and remediation.
- Establishes clear roles and responsibilities among the Project/Program Management team as well as all other project participants across the organization.
- Leads process for project roadmap planning including intake requests, sizing, organizational capacity, risk and complexity. Regularly conduct reviews and report on the portfolio progress, status and risk.
- Ensure that Project Managers develop and maintain extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools, as well as continuous improvement and delivery concepts, such as Agile, Lean, etc.
- Communicate with Enterprise Strategic Services (ESS) leadership, business leadership and IT leadership to communicate BECUâs program and project portfolio strategy, direction and changes.
- Work closely with ESS team to develop Business Plans. Aligns projects with Business Plan objectives. Ensure that projects continue to serve the organization and that the organization is working on the most impactful things.
- Ensure each project is prepared for audits by external or internal auditors.
- Is a role model for gracefully handling unexpected change and proactively manages risk.
- Lead and influence the necessary communication methods and tools that program and project managers use to demonstrate their proposed roadmaps and plans throughout the organization.
- Guides and leads the delivery of all programs and projects contained in the BECUâs program and project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements.
- Be knowledgeable of and actively participate in the development and execution of the annual strategic plan.
- Assist in facilitating effective resource capacity alignment to strategic initiatives during the planning cycle as well as throughout the year.
- Oversee the management of the program and project teams budget tracking and financial reconciliation for all program and project Managers.
- Develops a strong working relationship with all departments to find mutually beneficial solutions where projects are concerned.
- Identifies key drivers of success and keeps teams focused on critical path items to achieve results.
- Provide valuable direction and coaching to management direct reports so that they understand the vision and their roles, and the expectation of their roles in implementing the vision.
- Develop reliable customer feedback mechanisms which will have the information needed to continually improve the quality of service.
- Works closely with the Training, IT and other Management to identify pre and post implementation training and support requirements and ensures smooth transition of implemented projects.
- Be an active participant as a member of Credit Union management including being knowledgeable of and actively participating in the development and execution of the annual operating plan and being knowledgeable about the events, trends, and developments which affect the CU industry.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelorâs degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, business or related field, or equivalent work and/or education required. Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum ten years management experience desired.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
- Experience effectively leading large project management, program management or equivalent portfolio management teams.
- Financial Industry experience desired with a solid understanding of operations, program management, and strategic execution.
- Experience leading and working with diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Excellent planning skills in both tactical and strategic planning.
- Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in. the English language, at all levels in the organization, including executive management and the Board of Directors.
- Experience in short range (one year) and long range (three to five years) planning.
- Effective leadership and negotiation skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Expertise with Agile principles.
