Description:
The Chief Medical Officer is the local physician executive responsible for working with the medical staff, hospital president, BPP leadership team, and chief nursing executive to achieve the Health System and Medical Staff mutual interests of delivering safe, high quality and efficient healthcare to the patients we serve. He or she acts as an advocate on behalf of our patients, the Health System and the Medical Staff. Activities include coaching and mentoring physicians, active engagement around quality assurance, utilization review, and process improvement ,as well as developing and maintaining a professionally competent medical staff through both initial and ongoing privileging & credentialing activities. Finally, this physician executive works collaboratively across the system to engender a system approach of clinical standardization and excellence in the delivery of high quality cost efficient care.
