The SVP, Lending Products Governance and Business Management position will develop a holistic Controls framework and routines across U.S. Consumer’s entire lending product set, including Flex Loan, Flex Pay, Balcon, Rate Sale, Personal Installment Loans, among others.In addition, this role will oversee manual processes monitoring, issues management, audits and overall governance as well as leading critical business management functions, including senior stakeholder management and executive communications in partnership with key stakeholders across U.S. Consumer with significant senior-level exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective, robust and proactive identification of risks establishing holistic Controls framework across Lending products: internal strategies, procedures, processes and reporting to prevent violations of law, internal rules or regulation maintaining U.S. Unsecured Lending risk levels within the firm’s risk appetite
- Produce/collaborate on executive communications ensuring ongoing awareness of all critical Lending priorities and issues across key internal partners’ senior leadership as well as other critical audiences
- Inventory and oversee manual processes and design long-term strategy to expand automation opportunities
- Lead all U.S. Unsecured Lending Audits, organizing and providing project management oversight for the completion of related activities
- Lead management of issues and findings, supervise collaboration with key stakeholders and subject-matter experts to structure Corrective Action Plans and drive effective and timely resolution
- Stay abreast of relevant changes to rules/regulations and other industry news including regulatory findings and provide advice to the U.S. Unsecured Lending team on new initiatives, products, acquisitions and client-related matters with respect to applicability of policies, resolution of potential red flags or other possible issues
- Lead and motivate individual contributor who will provide support across all relevant activities
Qualifications:
- 8+ years in strategy, product and/or control roles within financial services, preferably gained at Citi with experience building operational risk or control frameworks
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA is preferred
- Understanding of strategic direction of U.S. Unsecured Lending, combined with conceptual/practical grounding in related subject areas and industry dynamics
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a remarkable ability to influence cross-functionally without direct authority
- Results-orientation and strong sense of urgency with proven leadership skills who thrives in high expectation situations involving multiple stakeholders across a matrixed organization
- Strong project planning and management experience; highly organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead others, creating a high commitment and fun work environment
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
