Our warehouse network spans from East to West Coasts of the United States and in Canada. Our services include transloading and automated sortation, cross-docking, replenishment, drayage management, and inland transportation.

We are looking for a Head of Continuous Improvement Engineering to join our North America Warehouse and Distribution team.

This position will be based in South Gate, CA.

The Head of Continuous Improvement is responsible for leading the development and implementation of industrial engineering principles across the North American warehousing and distribution organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the continuous improvement organization to meet the needs of the business and successfully execute projects focused on improving operational efficiency.
  • Act as a leader, influencer, and consultant for managers to drive the most efficient utilization of facilities and labor
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers geographically dispersed across facilities within the U.S. and Canada
  • Actively partner with leaders to drive engineering concepts which eliminate non value added work, reduce cost, and improve operations
  • Prioritize engineering projects based on business needs, cost, and ROI
  • Lead and participate in cross functional teams focused on high level, business critical engineering and continuous improvement projects

We are looking for

Qualifications Required

  • 5-10 years of experience managing an industrial engineering team
  • Must have experience in high volume distribution center environment
  • Must have experience in Lean, Kaizen and 5S Principles
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience in change management and building new teams
  • History of successfully leading and facilitating change with measurable results
  • Knowledge of distribution center automation and equipment
  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within US and Canada
  • High School Diploma/GED

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications: (Nice to Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
