Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting

Myriad Genetics, Inc., a publicly-traded molecular diagnostics company, is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting. The Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting will be involved with technical accounting analysis projects, external audit interface, SEC reporting and SOX compliance.

• Provide technical expertise, insight and documentation for complex transactions
• Ensure financial statements are accounted for and presented in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
• Identify, research, analyze and conclude on applicable U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
• Preparation of technical accounting position memos
• Play a key role in developing and establishing accounting policies and procedures for the corporation
• Serves as a subject matter expert on US GAAP and SEC regulations for the preparation and filing of SEC reports
• Take the lead role in the preparation and filing of all SEC documents including 10K,10Q and Proxy
• Understand Sarbanes Oxley requirements for large accelerated filers and assist in ongoing analysis/enhancement of processes and documentation to maintain compliance
• Liaise with external auditors

• 8-12 years of technical accounting experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required
• Active CPA license
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail, decision-making, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
• Process-oriented, ability to work with others, and lead and affect process change and improvements
• Professional and personable demeanor
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral
• Ability to research and propose resolutions on complex accounting issues
• Strong understanding of Sarbanes Oxley and its application to public companies
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience and familiarity with bio-technology industry preferred
• Experience in preparing SEC financial filings for a public company, including use of SEC filing platform, such as Active Disclosure (RRD), preferred
