    Director of Engineering

    Director of Engineering plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within an organization.

    Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, processes and standards are in conformance with organization’s established policies and objectives. Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output.

    Manages overall engineering budget and costs. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and interface closely with other departments.

    Position Responsibilities

    · Develop an overall strategy for engineering performance, design efficiency, and product quality.

    · Plan, organize, assign, review, and evaluate the Engineering staff

    · Critically review new engineering orders and identify project risk areas.

    · Assign projects with appropriate skilled staff

    · Weekly review designs in progress with individual staff members to ensure on time delivery

    · Critically review final designs to confirm high quality deliverable to manufacturing

    · Oversee the daily activities of all engineering group to ensure maximum organizational productivity

    · Mentor and coach all engineering staff

    · Recommend appropriate staffing levels

    · Develop and maintain Drawings & Design Standards and Standard Operating Procedures for the Engineering department

    · Consult with Plant Supervisor on estimating schedules for design and product development.

    Role Qualifications

    Candidate must possess deep practical engineering knowledge, be an excellent coach/mentor, have proven track record for timely project delivery.

    Possess innovative design capabilities

    Strong organizational and leadership skills

    Excellent communication skills and managerial abilities

    Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of engineering experience.
