The Director of Contracts will be in a leadership role and must provide contractual strategy, advice, and counsel to various levels and roles within the company. You will provide oversight for the company’s business/client units and project teams on contract management and contract compliance matters. You will negotiate, administer, and close out standard and nonstandard agreements, be highly self-motivated, and have the ability to prioritize multiple complex issues in a dynamic environment. This position requires a candidate who can positively interact with and influence team members in order to maximize their efforts toward achieving project goals.

Required Experience:

  • Corporate level cradle-to-grave management of multiple high-dollar contracting opportunities, from opportunity pursuit through award, performance, and closeout to protect the company and provide for proper contract acquisition and performance in accordance with company policies, procedures, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Highly experienced in negotiating complex Teaming Agreements and Subcontracts on opportunities exceeding $500 Million in value.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Driving contractual strategies and innovative mind-sets across the business portfolio.
  • Identifying and advising management on complex issues relating to contractual obligations, regulatory compliance, and risk exposure.
  • Advising the project team on individual contractual performance and compliance requirements, and ensuring compliant deliverables for all assigned contracts.
  • Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Identifying and facilitating resolution of contractual business issues that are not otherwise satisfactorily solved by the project team in a timely manner.
  • Serving as the primary contact between the Proposal/Capture Team, the Project Team and/or business unit and the Legal Department, ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly.
  • Developing and integrating contract management tools, templates, methods and processes for the Legal Department.
  • Achieving an expert level of understanding of the company’s major business goals in order to communicate effectively with other departments and project executives and provide relevant advice.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of Contract Management experience in a dynamic Federal Government contracting environment.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency (interpretation and compliance at a senior level) of and experience with FAR and DFARS.
  • Extensive experience with various contract types such as Time & Material, Cost types, Firm Fixed Price, etc.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of the contract life cycle including proposals, negotiation, administration, and close-out.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change directions when needed.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Juris Doctor Degree.
  • 8-10+ years of Contract Management experience at a DoD Contractor.
  • Current Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
  • National Contract Management Association – Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) certification.
  • Previous leadership experience, including the planning and participation in training of contract practices and negotiations to personnel.
  • Ability to coordinate DCAA and DCMA activities, including audits.
  • Familiarity with Small Business Administration (SBA) and/or Tribal Business Corporation regulations.
