Our company is seeking an Admissions Director to join our dedicated leadership team.This position is responsible for facilitating communication between the hospitals, facility and community as needed to provide education, support and assistance to residents, potential residents and their families. This position also acts as a liaison between the facility and community referral sources to secure admissions to the facility.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage referral inquiry process
  • Handle inquiry calls from hospitals, families, etc., and provide appointments that include a presentation, tour and closing.
  • Maintain facility bed availability list and facility services information.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with area hospitals as well as internal and external customers to gather and provide information about our services.
  • Maintain relationships with legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, assisted living and senior housing facilities, appropriate special interest groups, churches and other community contacts.
  • Review and update medical information on the patients’ medical record; speak with hospital personnel as needed to gather all information related to patient care.
  • Confirms that all insurance benefits coverage meets standards of admission as dictated by facility protocols.
  • Communicate special needs of new admissions to staff to ensure a smooth transition
  • Participate in meetings to alert appropriate staff members of projected admissions, room changes, discharges and appointments/tours.
  • Educates prospective patients, families and referral sources on accommodations and continuity of care we have to offer
  • Responsible for maintaining exceptional census statistics for overall facility census (95% occupancy) as well as premium payer mix (Medicare and Medicare Replacement).
  • Identify need for specialized programs and growth potential in new markets.

Qualifications:

  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must be able to lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology as well as Medicare, Medicaid, private and long-term care insurances
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Business, or other related program, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health care setting preferred
