The Position

The Director, Lytics Marketing leads the function and team responsible for strategic brand marketing of all Squad products in both their approved indications and future Lifecycle options.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the Marketing Lead for the Lytics Squad with accountability to develop and execute the Squad vision and 90-day priorities within the Marketing function and across other functional partners.

Leads the cross functional Lytics Lifecycle Team to develop, access, resource, prioritize, and execute Lifecycle options to maximize the value we bring to patients. Beyond lifecycle options this may include the evaluation of Business Development opportunities.

Lead the commercial development of the TNKase indication for stroke to ensure successful launches (both in the TIMELESS treatment window and explore the validity of external data to extend our TNK label). Further develop the business case to support additional Lifecycle investments where appropriate e.g. postPCI development. Mitigate the competitive threat of the Retavase launch with appropriate promotion and contracting strategies. Work closely with the XOFLUZA team to maximize launch awareness with Emergency Departments.

Embraces GNE new ‘agility’ working practices to mobilize the Marketing team to maximize customer value and help more patients while ensuring the marketing team engages in fulfilling work.

Leads strong collaboration with Squad, CEoF Ecosystems, Functional and Development Partners to develop integrated value proposition, strategic business plan, including specific, measurable and action-oriented 90-day priorities that grow franchise profitability, patient uptake and customer expectations. Deftly enables re-prioritization as business needs, market events, and available resources change.

Contributes leadership skills, thrombolytic insights/knowledge and courage to embrace new approaches in order to help identify innovative priorities, plans and tactics that will help improve year-on-year brand adoption to maximize the number of patients who currently benefit from Thrombolytic treatment.

Contributes to the broader Marketing community at Genentech, offers functional expertise and supports capability development for the entire Marketing function

Identifies, develops, implements and maintains an appropriate and aligned infrastructure of internal and external resources that are required to achieve the maximum level of customer satisfaction and enterprise best practice.

Represents the brand value proposition for all products in the assigned franchise(s) to others inside and outside of Genentech.

Leads or oversees hiring and development of direct and indirect reports.

Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

You are an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

(unless stated as “preferred” or “a plus,” all other criteria is required)

Key Society / Key Customer Marketing, Consumer Marketing and Non Personal Promotion channels are considered critical marketing experience for this role

Bachelors Degree

MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred

Average of 10 or more years’ work experience

A minimum of 4 years’ previous product marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other related industry with a track record of progressing to higher/more senior product marketing roles & responsibilities

Previous broad biotech and/or pharmaceutical experience would be helpful and previous experience in the hospital setting or thrombolytic therapy area is preferred

Working knowledge of product development, regulatory and clinical affairs

Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals, for larger-scale product marketing organizations

Previous experience leading larger-scale business planning processes, to include development & implementation of such plans, goals and metrics

Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings

Relocation assistance is being provided

Up to 25% overnight travel
