TITLE: Associate Athletics Director

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: This position covers planning and delivery of administrative support to all areas of intercollegiate athletics. Responsibilities will vary but may include: analysis of issues; evaluating systems and procedures; hiring, evaluating and supervising personnel; managing business relationships and/or processes; working with internal and external constituencies; managing and administering budgets; complying with NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations; interpreting legislation; managing and promoting events; coordinating facilities; interacting with the media; developing schedules; reserving travel and securing hotels; recruiting student-athletes and staff; strategic planning; consulting with on and off-campus colleagues; representing the department on committees and at various institutional, conference and national events; fundraising; and ensuring program equity and Title IX compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists the Athletics Director with the overall management of a comprehensive NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics program including supervision of head coaches as assigned
- Responsible for institutional compliance with all NCAA and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rules and regulations to include: coaches, staff, student-athletes, institutional faculty/staff, and athletics alumni/boosters.
- Conducts monthly rules education sessions for athletics staff and others and disseminates information regarding rule changes in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) and conference staff on matters related to compliance.
- Assists the FAR and appropriate departmental personnel with the annual NCAA rules review sessions for administrative staff.
- Responsible for completion of NCAA and SIAC forms and reports as needed.
- Responsible for the coordination and verification of eligibility certification in conjunction with the appropriate campus officials.
- Responsible for the coordination and verification of grant-in-aid disbursement with the appropriate campus officials. This includes management of the NLI process.
- Works closely with the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness to ensure the timely completion of University, state, SIAC, NCAA and federally mandated reports including the EADA report.
- Provide information regarding NCAA regulations to external constituents through collaborative activities with External Affairs, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs professionals.
- Conduct annual meetings with each team to complete all required NCAA and departmental forms. Responsible for reviewing all necessary information pertinent to student-athlete eligibility, financial aid, and drug testing
- Partners with the Athletics Director to development, implement and periodically review all plans for the department including a Title IX plan and an overall strategic plan.
- Engage in fundraising activities as approved and/or as requested by the Director of Athletics
- Participate in public relations activities, to include speaking engagements, television and radio interviews, and press conferences as approved and reasonably requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s Degree is strongly preferred
- Two to three yearsâ of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- NCAA regulations and reporting requirements for NCAA Division II
- Experience and knowledge working with NCAA Bylaws
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Banner.
- Knowledge of Title IX and gender equity issues.
- Sport supervision experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- This person will have supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
