About the Job: The Chief Operating Officer plans, directs, administers and coordinates El Rio Operations in accordance with policies and strategic direction as established by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of Directors. The Chief Operating Officer (COO), develops, and implements strategic short and long-term integrated health center operations, care coordination, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, patient communications, health insurance and community resources and training and development functions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Care (Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine) or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Ten (10) years of management or director level experience; preferably in a health care environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of strategic short and long range planning in a healthcare setting.
- Extensive experience in the management of clinical care and patient support organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership on innovative strategies to enhance the service and quality of operational services and proven team approach to improvement strategies.
- Proven ability to work with others cooperatively both internally and externally.
- Experience with implementation of policies/procedures in a healthcare environment that comply with principles /standards recognized and improved by accreditation agencies.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
- As applicable to the clinical education achievements earned by the candidate.
- Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.
Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Clinical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Greater than ten (10) years of supervisory experience; preferably in a health care environment.
- Previous direct clinical patient care experience is highly preferred.
