This Vice President Team Leader leads a team of Financial Services officers in providing agriculture loan products and financial expertise to complex and demanding large scale commercial farmers and agribusinesses. This position focuses primarily on the livestock industry. This is a fast-paced, challenging, and mobile environment.
This position’s market territory is statewide with potential office locations at all FCS Financial locations within Missouri.

Department: Marketplace Services
Reports to: VP, Commercial Farmer and Agribusiness
Supervises: Commercial Financial Services Officers
Responsibilities/Duties
Portfolio Servicing
- Provides information on subsequent loan servicing actions
- Reviews portfolio for accurate classification
- Reviews portfolio loans for repricing opportunities to lower customer bill rates and improve Association spreads
- Monitors customer payments to ensure they are made in a timely fashion
- Ensures loan covenants are met
- Determines the appropriate response for issues of non-compliance
- Educates customers regarding their financial position and industry/financing trends
New Loan Origination
- Identifies prospects and customers with opportunity debt
- Markets loans to prospects and existing customers
- Gathers customer information needed for loan approval and reviews for accuracy
- Selects best method for loan analysis
- Determines appropriate pricing for requests
- Presents approved loan package to customer
- Communicates closing process and requirements and ensures closing conditions are met
Department Management
- Establishes team and individual goals
- Analyzes the market to identify growth opportunities
- Communicates with other departments to address challenges and conflicts
- Identifies and advocates for more efficient loan processing processes
Staff Management
- Selects, develops, motivates and evaluates a team of Financial Services Officers
- Determines division of responsibilities and provides work guidance and direction
- Recommends and implements performance standards
Relationship Management
- Identifies opportunities to develop and maintain a professional presence in the agriculture community
- Prioritizes activities and opportunities to engage with the community
- Approves the use of public relations funds to retain and grow the business
- Attends and participates in community and industry events
Industry Expertise
- Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of an assigned market segment such as livestock production or row crop agriculture.
- Shares industry expertise within the Association to maximize the organization’s business opportunities
Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, finance, business or a related field
- 5 years of experience in agricultural lending
- 4 years of supervisory responsibility
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Expert knowledge of production agriculture
- Expert knowledge of the financials of farm and agribusiness
- Expert knowledge of chattel valuation
- Working knowledge of current agricultural lending practices and the financial services industry
- Working knowledge of industry risk management strategies
- Working knowledge of credit underwriting policies and practices
- Working knowledge of human resource management practices
- Skill in reasoning persuasively to sell Association products and services
- Skill in establishing and maintaining relationships with existing and perspective customers
- Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and customers
- Skill in selecting, managing, coaching, motivating and developing a team
- Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues
- Skill in negotiating complex agreements to achieve the best outcome for the organization
- Skill in preparing and presenting information to an audience in an engaging and effective way
