DESCRIPTION:
CBS News is seeking a Vice President / Human Resources to join the NYC based HR News group in providing HR leadership to employees and management team in our NYC based Headquarters. Responsibilities include providing strategic advice on a wide variety of areas to maximize organizational effectiveness and performance. In this role, the Vice President will grow additional strong partnerships with management in expanded areas of the News division and ensures HR strategies, processes and practices align with Corporation and News division’s business needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide HR support to several CBS News groups in support of employee relations, performance management, strategic planning and compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Provide coaching to managers, offering feedback and advice on issues in a proactive and compassionate manner.
- Manage performance in partnership with Legal and Labor Relations
- Work with management to develop and implement training strategies to meet employee needs, including supervisory training
- Support Cultural growth and change
- Assist in the recruitment efforts processes which includes development of job descriptions, creation of diversity recruitment strategies, posting, background verification’s and candidate interviews. Liaises with the hiring manager and the Talent Acquisition group for all open positions
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
- Minimum 12 years relevant HR experience
- Experience in a union environment preferred
- Experience in a News environment required
- Significant experience in Employee investigations and resolution
