Job Description

ENERGY FOR WHAT’S AHEAD
Are you looking to make a difference in your career? We’re working on smarter grids, cleaner energy and tools to help people manage energy more efficiently.
About Customer & Operational Services:
Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. We support this effort by working to meet customer expectations. Customer Service is dedicated to operational excellence and innovative thinking through our workforce in our call center, field operations, billing and payment center, outage and demand-side management and other service offerings.
The job is…
Recent policy changes and company objectives have resulted in the need for transformational change of the utility business model in California. In the past few years, the focus on GHG emissions reductions and environmental health has resulted in significant requirements on the California IOUs to modernize the grid and its associated processes to incorporate significant amounts of Transportation Electrification opportunities.
We have 10 years to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40%. However, we have a longer-term goal of 80% reduction by 2050. Our mission is to find a way to get there in a way that is affordable, sustainable, good for the economy and good for our customers. We need new ideas, new partnerships, new infrastructure, and a lot of support from industries across our economy and the government to find practical alternatives.

Meeting these goals will require a new responsibility in the newly formed eMobility organization to develop new and improved objectives and plans with intra-department management collaboration which will have significant impact to the company.
As the Transportation Electrification Project Manager, eMobility, you will provide total program support to the Senior Project Manager in eMobility Operations responsible for leading SCE’s Charge Ready Transport (CRT) Program. CRT was launched in May 2019 and is a $356M, multi-year program in support of widespread adoption of electric vehicles and SCE’s eMobility programs and services. Additionally, the Advisor will support the project team through the deployment of charging infrastructure at 870 sites to convert approximately 8,500 vehicles targeting transit agencies, warehouses (forklifts, delivery trucks), port, and heavy-duty trucks.

Day to day…
  • Work with the CRT Senior Project Manager, Account Managers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve difficult issues and advance challenging project sites through the program pipeline to achieve positive outcomes for the participants.
  • Disseminate timely information to customers, vendors, and project team members on Transportation Electrification developments, charging equipment or program participation eligibility, approved product list qualifications, and policy changes.
  • Coordinate and sometimes lead program events with internal team members across multiple departments as well as representatives of other investor-owned utilities, governmental and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify, research, and advise on resolution of unusually complex matters and regulations to support SCE customer fleet conversion and SCE’s eMobility programs and services.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data on key business developments, resources, and operational activities to executive leadership, respond to CPUC data requests, and collaborate on the development of future SCE Transportation Electrification filings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on EV charging equipment evaluation and certification.
