Nature & Scope of Position: The Senior Vice President of Government Operations is responsible for leading, directing and overseeing all operational aspects and service level agreements (SLAs) of eQHealth’s contracts and grants with government clients. Primarily focusing on medical management (utilization review, care management, care coordination, disease management) and quality improvement and educational initiatives with providers and beneficiaries. Responsible for creating and executing strategic analyses, plans, marketing and initiatives to grow the government line of business.
Currently, eQHealth operates Medicaid medical management operational centers in Tampa, FL, Lombard, IL , Little Rock, AR, Denver, CO and Jackson, MS, with additional contracts/grants in Louisiana and Colorado.

- Bachelorâs degree or higher in healthcare related. Clinical experience required. Masters degree preferred
- 10 years medical management experience; 5 years at the senior level
- Experience with management of transactional systems including utilization management, CM, DM and/or care coordination and call center environments.
- Account management experience and ability to prioritize issues and processes
- Experience managing remote staff in multiple locations
- Demonstrated background with strategic planning and analysis of business operations. Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated people management and mentoring skills
- Preparation of budgets and tracking of budget compliance
- Background in organizing the implementation of new projects
- Ability to interface and negotiate with divergent clients and groups
- Proposal development experience and excellent written communication skills
Essential Responsibilities
- Develops strategic short and long range plans to cover operations, personnel, financial performance and growth.
- Accountable for P&L functions for all government contracts and grants.
- Oversight and direction of project and program directors who are responsible for the contracts and grants.
- Creates collaborative, cross-functional and matrix-management structures across contracts to leverage sharing of operational resources. Brings efficiency and standardization to operational practices across staff teams servicing various clients
- Ensures operational excellence of all medical management and contract compliance functions for government clients, including staffing, contract and regulatory compliance, SLAs, URAC accreditations and budgeting.
- Leads and/or contributes to technical and cost proposal development and writing for RFPs and RFIs
- Works closely with eQHealth’s product development, finance and IT teams to continually improve our medical management systems and services.
- Coaches and delivers effective mentoring and direction to direct and indirect reports creating a supportive work environment where everyone has the opportunity to fulfill their potential.
- Must be able to travel as clients and staff will be nationwide
