Senior Account Executive/Association COO – CHI

What are we looking for?
Kellen is searching for an association leader focused on delivering stretch results and creating an efficient and positive staff team culture for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. You will serve as the COO and Kellenâs chief of staff for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, a Kellen client professional society with 4,000+ members who practice in diverse healthcare settings.You will report to and support the Association Executive Director and Executive Council, and be responsible to and supported by Kellen senior management. You will play a key role in the creation of a lasting and successful partnership between ASCRS and Kellen.
In this role you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the associationâs Kellen staff team and functions, ensuring excellence in all aspects of our work, preparing the association for the next level of evolution, scale and impact.
What will you do?
- You will provide support across a broad spectrum of association responsibilities, including administration, strategic and operating plan implementation and progress monitoring, budget development and oversight, committee management and membership strategy.
- You will connect and ensure coordinated service delivery by staff specialists in meetings, education, sales, foundation leadership, information services, marketing and communications.
- Ideal candidates have a track record of successful leadership at an association and familiarity working with healthcare organizations and physicians.
- Candidates must be invested in organizational learning and culture, issues of operating scale and sustainability, cultivating leadership and supporting high capacity leaders.
Association Governance and Operations
- With the association Executive Director, set direction and targets, develop and implement programs, identify resources.
- Communicate staff and program status to Executive Director
- Serve as the staff liaison for select committees.
- Promote association management best practices to Executive Director, Council and staff
- Strategic plan program administration and monitoring
- Budget planning and analysis
- Operating and business plan development
Supervisory
- Management of a multidisciplinary client team, ensure implementation of scope of work, coordination with Kellen specialists in other departments for service delivery.
- Ensure staff resources and deliverables are focused on client objectives.
- Manage team to results through strong performance management, goal setting, coaching.
- Promotes the growth and development of individuals through empowering, advocating and differentiated support.
Strategic and Business
- Monitor trends, assess and introduce initiatives that help the association achieve its mission and goals.
- Ensure the collection, analysis, and application of data and analytics to inform decision-making and monitor current and future membership and participation trends
- Identify new programs, emerging trends and actions to grow the association.
- Develop and review business plans and ROI for association programs.
Membership
- Serve as a source of membership-related expertise for staff, leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor a membership growth and retention strategy, including goals, tactics, timeline and performance/ progress-driven metrics.
Am I qualified?
- Bachelorâs degree required.
- Minimum 7 years association management leadership experience, including healthcare associations.
- CAE preferred
- Demonstrated experience as a leader of group projects and management of employees.
- A self-initiated, innovative thinker who builds trusted, lasting relationships with members, volunteer leaders, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Positive team player in a challenging and changing environment; includes working with a variety of personnel across multiple departments and office locations.
