Product Development at Sovos is an integral part of what we do as an organization. A Scrum Master will collaborate with development teams and product owners, and serve as a coach, mentor, talent elevator, strategic planner and overall mediator to deliver new features to our software products.


More specifically:

  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies with the team
  • Utilize the Burn Down to monitor Sprint Health
  • Remove simple impediments that impact the team’s ability to deliver
  • Facilitate collaboration to continuously groom the backlog
  • Admin. responsibilities to keep team informed (team definition, DL, documenting action items, etc.)
  • Observe leaders in day to day activities and begin applying learnings
  • Inspire and Motivate team members
  • Earn trust of team members and lead by example
  • Ensure the team is aligned with Sovos global scrum practices
  • Accountable for Global metrics accuracy and shared with the team
  • Basic Support and PS collaboration through Triage
  • Raise issues limiting team effectiveness
  • Ensure relevant sprint information is communicated to scrum team members
  • Respect team members and their individual perspectives
  • Keep team members informed regarding projects and developments
  • Essential Job Functions

    • Comprehend and communicate complex concepts
    • Concentrate, analyze and resolve complex problems
    • Utilize technology (e.g. phone systems, computer hardware and software applications) to fulfill work requirements

What We Need From You

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree
  • 0 – 2 years’ experience
  • Consume relevant knowledge
  • Basic understanding of your product
  • Enjoys working hard especially when faced with change
  • Adjusts effectively to work within new structures and processes
  • Understands Sovos Org Structure & roles and responsibilities
  • Understanding of tools critical to software development such as JIRA, Source Control, and Build Automation Tools
  • Understanding of development lifecycle including branching/merging technique utilized by the team
  • Understanding Testing Concepts including Unit Tests, Integration Tests, Automated Tests, and Regression
  • Understanding processes and responsibilities for delivering code to Production
