Project Manager – Utility and Construction

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team. ECI s Project Manager for this project shall have demonstrated experience or related experience dealing with the construction projects (utility construction experience a plus), utility management, contractors, field inspectors, the public, landowners, and governmental and regulatory entities. Knowledge of environmental regulations, process creation, implementation, and improvement, and knowledge of construction techniques related to environmental activities is important. Experience in managing multiple complex projects, adherence to schedules and budgets a must. They shall perform the work in a manner that recognizes the importance of adherence to budget and construction schedules as well as the sensitive nature of the construction projects in the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work safe at all times, following company s safety policies and procedures
  • Perform duties in an unsupervised manner, exercising discretion and judgement based upon communications expertise, environmental/forestry knowledge and education in accordance with the project scope
  • Actively participate as a key member of the construction team, providing daily input to management team
  • Effectively mitigate budget and completion time line issues that might arise from the work being performed.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project’s objectives, design and scope in order to accurately answer questions and mediate public relations issues.
  • Assist in investigating and recommending future R-O-W maintenance requirements Operate system forestry computer programs and record systems
  • Communicate with federal, state, and local officials as necessary to answer questions and assist in the mitigation of concerns.
  • Assist in preventing work delay and work stoppage situations as a result of conflicts
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • AS or BS Degree required with a minimum of 2 years of project management or related management experience OR 4 years of project management or related experience
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities and show attention to detail
  • Must be able to adapt to change
  • Certification as an ISA Arborist is a plus
  • Being Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus

Environment

Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including: walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions


Physical

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (5 to 10 lbs.); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.
