Position Summary:

This individual assumes full responsibility for management and development of assigned vendors. This individual is also responsible for issue resolution, education and providing information to assigned vendors to develop their business and build strong partnerships with PSI. Setting industry standards for outstanding vendor performance and continuing to strengthen the PSI, client and vendor relationship, and broadening industry knowledge is the primary focus.

  • Gains a complete understanding of the various processes performed in this position
  • Complete the process test scoring a 90% or higher
  • Answers identified share of total departmental incoming calls daily
  • Manages full vendor base assigned


Vendor Management

  • Vendor project coordination, issue resolution, identification of process improvement opportunities, prepares vendors for distribution, recognizes and communicates successes and failures
  • Ensures effective and timely vendor and staff communication
  • Reviews vendor performance measures according to established schedules
  • Coordinates vendor performance improvement opportunity implementation
  • Root cause analysis, identification and implementation of preventative measures
  • Facilitate process improvement meetings with the vendor
  • Develops professional relationship with each assigned vendor contact and gains a full understanding of the hierarchy with each assigned vendor and the roles each contact fulfills within the organization


Issue Escalation

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of when to escalate:
  • Issues surrounding contracts or payment transfers to new vendors
  • Issues that will have an adverse impact from a monetary, legal or image perspective to management
  • Recognizes when further investigation is needed of over, short and damage, pilferage or theft to management


System Updates

  • Ensures system is current with any vendor information, contact information, documentation of issues and successes
  • Ensure system is current with any project related detail.
  • Utilize system as the main information source and documentation database and offer suggestions for continued development of system.


Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Associates Degree or equivalent level of education and experience
