JOB DESCRIPTION
This position serves as the chief executive for the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce and is responsible for carrying out the policies and directives of the Board of Directors. The President is the primary champion of fulfilling the chambers mission and work, and will be an inspirational and collaborative visionary, as well as an exceptional leader. The President will work in collaboration with the board, our members, the local community and government, and our partners to continue creating innovative and exceptional value for all.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Membership Growth. Retention, New Members, Maintain Chamber Master database. Manage resources to effectively maintain member value and recruit and retain members.
- Tourism. Marketing, Social Media, Travel Shows, Marketing Partnerships, Branding, Website content, (Paul Bunyan Trail Association), Brainerd Lakes Area Marketing Partners (Visit Brainerd, Brainerd Chamber, Cuyuna Lakes Chamber, Whitefish Lodging Association), Annual Visitor’s Guide.
- Sponsorship. Fundraising to support Chamber Events & Activities
- Advocacy. Advocating for the benefit of our members at Nisswa City Planning & Zoning, Nisswa City Council, Other Local & State Government Entities.
- Event Management. Planning, budgeting, preparation of, volunteer recruiting, and executing yearly events.
- Visibility to Community. Attend Chamber functions, social and civic functions, networking. Ensures positive and professional relationship are fostered in the business community.
- Volunteer Recruiting. Continue developing & coordinating roster of volunteers to help with events and other Chamber sponsored functions.
- Staffing Supervision. Office Administrator (full time), Events & Special Projects Coordinator (part time seasonal), event staff, greeter staff and volunteers.
- Reports to a Board of Directors. Prepare reports for monthly board meetings
- Government Affairs. Involvement in local government affairs to help foster a healthy business climate.
- Financial Integrity. Develop Chamber’s budget to meet program goals.
- Long Range Planning. Under the direction of the Board, the President maintains focus on long-range planning needs, and provides continuity pertaining to recommending and accomplishing multi-year goals.
- Board of Directors Liaison. The President engenders the respect and confidence of the Board, individually and collectively. Responsible for agendas, minutes, records, action items and programs of the Board. Serves as an adviser to the Board, as well as a representative from the Board to carry out its mission.
