Jacobs is currently seeking a full time Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Operations Manager to provide full time, onsite support to a Federal client located in Alexandria, VA. We are in search of an effective and innovative individual to join our team, whose goal is to assist the agency in furthering their strategic mission, maintaining their IT enterprise and infrastructure, and supporting modernization of their platform and services, while providing excellent levels of customer service.
As an Operations Manager with Jacobs, you will have overall responsibility for:
- Supervising, managing, tracking, and reporting all aspects of network operations
- Identifying related risk and risk mitigation strategies
- Advise the contractor and government team, as well as stakeholders, on all matters relating to daily operations
In support of the client’s IT Infrastructure and Enterprise, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing a network located within the secure data center, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Maintaining LAN/WAN connectivity contained in the service environment
- Developing and documenting network administration CONOPS
- Developing and documenting procedures for administration that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies and procedures
- Approving administration CONOPS and procedures
- Managing day-to-day network operations and administration activities in the customer data center
- Managing all network devices at the customer’s location housing IT technology, in accordance with customer’s policies (including security oversight and change management policies)
- Maintaining IP addressing schemes, router configurations, routing tables, VPN configurations, etc.
- Managing user accounts as needed for access and maintaining network resources (e.g., logon user-id and password maintenance)
- Maintaining and providing audit information including access, general logs, and application logs in accordance with customer’s security policies
- Ensuring that network administration activities are coordinated through customer-defined change management processes
- Ensuring network devices are at the current version per manufacturer’s guidelines and government approval, including upgrades to operating systems
- Notifying government at least one year ahead of devices that are approaching end of life or end of manufacturer support
- Managing acquisition of replacement equipment or service support contracts
Qualifications
- BS/BA in a related field required
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience as an Operations Manager for Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure contracts and/or programs
- Demonstrated operations management experience that includes the following:

An equivalent IT Infrastructure contract and/or program with a staff size between 50 to 75 Full Time Equivalents (FTEs)
An equivalent IT Infrastructure contract and/or program with a staff size between 50 to 75 Full Time Equivalents (FTEs)
o
An equivalent IT infrastructure that includes a combination of the following: enterprise services (e.g., data center, network operations, telecommunications); incident and problem management; service recovery; and asset management

Work Environment:
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance:
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
