Zurich is currently looking for an Intern for Summer 2020, to support our North America Office of the COO, Innovation team out of our Schaumburg, IL, office.
This intern will work under immediate supervision and perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, this position is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor.
Primary assignments you will work on include:
- Supporting trend analysis
- Scouting insurtechs
- Supporting innovation initiatives to develop new capabilities
- Structuring innovation messaging in presentations
- Assisting with innovation events
- Adhoc projects
You will learn:
- Working collaboratively across business and Innovation functions across North America
- Understanding of the various roles and responsibilities of the COO organization
- Communication skills
- Structured problem solving
- Creation and delivery of presentations
- Developing business strategy
Other development opportunities:
- Develop understanding of insurance business models

- Emerging risks and trends impacting the insurance industry

Basic Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a bachelorâs degree in in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Economics or related business / analytical field
- Currently enrolled in a bachelors program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2020
- Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the Administrative area
- Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
- Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate Excel Skills (Vlookup/pivot tables etc.)
- Microsoft Project and/or Visio is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills in customer focused environment
- Quick Learner
- Experience in a leadership role
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
