Hiram W. Davis Medical Center (HDMC), a patient centered team of professionals located near Petersburg, Virginia, is recruiting for an Information Technology Manager (IT Manager). This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive team of professionals in a 94-bed Long Term Care facility which provides Skilled Nursing, Intermediate care, and General-Medical level of care. This facility is CMS/VDH and Joint Commission accredited. The IT Manager position will be responsible for providing guidance and direction for the following areas: IT Security, access control, software application development, telecommunications services, procurement, technology related equipment, and provide overall systems management. In addition, the IT Manager supports and manages the storage of confidential digital data, and all electronic security related to IT. This position will act as liaison to the Central State Hospital IT Department and VITA to ensure proper service according to the contracts. The IT Manager will also provide leadership and direction for the implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and will manage various projects involving Information Technology.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful incumbent will have knowledge of CoVa information technology operations, state, federal, JACHO, and information security standards. Project leadership experience, system design methodologies, supervision and management of IT employees and IT operations is required. Excellent human relations skills and the ability to communicate and deal with all levels of staff and users is also required. Incumbent must have competency in planning, implementing, monitoring of projects/tasks throughout the completion process; a solid understanding of technology planning, development, and deployment processes, as well as electronics, troubleshooting, calibration, testing procedures, circuit analysis and repair. An understanding of installation, configuration, migration, monitoring, security and troubleshooting of MS SQL Server databases is required. Knowledge and expertise of database development and internet site development, and the ability to maintain computer infrastructures with an emphasis on networking and network design is required. Project Management experience or equivalent experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelors of Science degree related to Information Technology or combination of equivalent education and experience is preferred. Experience in healthcare setting and EHR’s is preferred. Previous experience working with senior management is also preferred.
