The Head of Operations (COO) formulates communication, operations and policy work. As COO this person will provide clarity, direction, and strategic focus. The Head of Operations (COO) will also be responsible for recognizing and capitalizing on fostering connections within key business functions.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Envision an effective communication strategy.
- Support brand awareness.
- Set communication goals.
- Develop and manage the internal communication for the team.
- Serve as representative across the local community.
- Improve organizational culture.
- Organize team-building activities.
- Manage team for in-office operations.
- Set vision and goals to support the health and management of the HR function.
- Design and implement a performance management system.
- Manage board meeting process.
- Design and execute board retreats.
- Support legislative agenda with constituencies.
- Support local advocacy and community engagement.
Skills Experience Required:
- Bachelors Degree required.
- Advanced degree highly preferred.
- 8-10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Committed to mission-driven work.
- Proven results in forming communication strategy and representing an organization.
- Past management of a staff/board relationship highly preferred.
